Book Discussion Recording

Earlier this week authors Barbara Boustead, Cindy Wilson, and myself had a great chat with Mary Jo Wertz, the director of the Laura Ingalls Wilder Memorial Society located in De Smet, South Dakota. Little House fans were in attendance to this virtual event. And now we have the recording ready for you!
If you didn't catch the video recording of The Long Winter book discussion, that is also below.

Our Laura Ingalls Wilder-related books are available in the Laura Ingalls Wilder Memorial Society's gift shop which is also linked below. The titles are included, too. (I find it best to search by the title and not by the author.)

The video recordings are below. You must use the passcode to access it.

I shared more about our author connections earlier this year when I introduced our first book talk of the year.

Do you want more Little House book discussions? Be sure to subscribe to my author newsletter so you don't miss it! (Even if you follow Laura Ingalls Wilder Companion on Facebook, the algorithm only shows my posts to about 10% of my followers!) We're hoping to do a book talk about Little Town on the Prairie in the fall.

Thank you for supporting the Laura Ingalls Wilder Memorial Society! They are working with us to provide these book discussions free of charge. And they would love your financial support through a gift or purchases in their shop.

During the discussion, Mary Jo asked me questions that I had originally researched for my book The Laura Ingalls Wilder Companion: A Chapter-by-Chapter Guide. Nearly twenty pages in my book are dedicated to the historical context, fact or fiction, discussion questions, and Live Like Laura activities inspired by By the Shores of Silver Lake. My family loves to snack on homemade dried apples as well as soda crackers. You can also make a homemade checkerboard, go on a night hike, and more to Live Like Laura!

Annette Whipple writes nonfiction books for children, including The Laura Ingalls Wilder Companion: A Chapter-by-Chapter Guide which includes history, discussion, photographs, and 75 activities so readers can "live like Laura."
